Too much to do—-all the time I might add
So, it has been awhile! I have sat down about three times to write a post and only had a chance to write a few sentences and then been drug off to do something else. So here I am now. It is 7ish in the morning and no one is awake!! I need to wake up my hubby in a minute, but he can wait at least 10 minutes, right?
I am in the process of making a household notebook. None of you dear friends must have one because I got no comments about it. The pages/sections I have so far are:
1.) Cleaning schedule (what I am going to clean each day, once a week, and once a month)
2.) Menu lists (breakfast, lunch, and dinner for one week at a time–this hopefully will help me keep up with my budget)
3.) Library list (what is checked out, what I have requested to be on hold, what topics I am covering in school in the coming weeks)
4.) Prayer list ( I pray over requests for MEND, I pray every Monday over the Texas children waiting for adoption by name, family, friends) Having it on a list helps me to not forget to do it and also to be able to go back and see God’s faithfulness as prayers are answered.
5.) Homeschooling ( I am thinking this will need its own notebook)
7.) Inventory lists for pantry, freezer, and fridge (I know this sounds crazy, but I really think it will be life changing–I will let you know. Bryan is laminating them after I write down what we normally stock in there and then I will just keep marking them down as I use them so I know what I need to buy)
8.) Open for suggestions…….
I also am in the process of narrowing down our curriculum choices for the next school year so I can start buying. We are following a classical education model and are using the book “The Well Trained Mind” as a guide. I highly recommend reading it. It is what turned the corner for me in my decision to home school. I want to post pics of our school room. My camera is in the bedroom with sleeping people, so those pics to come!
Bryan wanted me to share how God moved in our lives last Friday. Let me back up by sharing that we have committed to each other and God to be better stewards of the money that God gives to us. We really nailed down our budget and went to an all cash system. I spent so much time praying that God would really help me to make wise decisions and stick to it. Let me just say that it was HARD. Hard, hard, hard. Let me also say that it seems silly to realize how hard it was. I have PLENTY of money to work with. We gave ourselves a big cushion so we wouldnt feel like we were failing all the time. Anyways…………I get paid on the 15th of every month. So last Friday we went out to eat and celebrated that we made it one month on our budget. We did not resort to our debit card once! We are eating at Jason’s Deli and this couple approaches us and says “We just wanted to come and introduce ourselves. We were watching your family and were reminded about when we had little ones. The Lord laid it on our hearts to buy your dinner. God bless you.” He then shook Bryan’s hand and slipped 30 dollars in it! They smiled and walked away. The tears started coming for me. God is so good. It always floors me when God makes himself known in tangible ways. It reminds me of how much I am loved! Let that just encourage you that God DOES care about your day to day struggles. He loves you so much!
Well it is now 7:17. Bummer! I had more to share! Off to start Bryan’s shower. Love you guys.
