Chicken Chili

Our best buds-Josh and Jill-introduced us to this chili on our very first dinner at their house.  Every time I make it I remember that dinner.  I smile and thank God for such great friends….and many more memories made around dinner!

Jill’s White Bean Chicken Chili

  • 1lb white northern beans
  • 51/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1T. white pepper
  • 1t. salt
  • 1 T. oregano
  • 1 T. cumin
  • 1/2 t. ground clove

*Combine the above ingredients for 5 hours on high in a crock pot.

  • 7oz can diced green chilies
  • chopped cooked chicken
  • 13/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 T. diced jalapeno

*add to chili and cook for 1 hour

*Place a flour tortilla in a soup bowl.  Put chili on top.  Toppings:  Cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.


All good Chili needs some cornbread!


Thank goodness for helpers that are eager to knead the dough!


Dividing the dough into rolls--will 18 be enough? 😉
