Covered Ministry Update
Hey friends! I know that y’all haven’t been given an update in a really long time. Life got really busy with school and I didn’t blog nearly as much as I should have… This year I promise to keep you all updated more frequently on what God is doing! Since I haven’t blogged in a while, I am going to give a quick rundown of everything that has happened in the last year.
Last Summer my life began to become so busy that I put the ministry on the “back burner”. I knew that God had given me the gift of sewing and had opened my heart to special needs for a reason; but, I quickly became discouraged with everything else I had to do. My parents and I began to pray that God would open doors for me to share about the ministry and eventually open people’s hearts to help.
Within a few months, I was contacted by our church’s MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group. They asked me to come speak at one of their meetings and then they wanted to cut the squares for the quilts. I expected to only have them cut twenty to thirty quilts. Instead, they provided and cut eighty quilts! A few of the ladies even committed to sewing or cutting a quilt a month. This went above and beyond my expectations of what God would do! Thank you, MOPS ladies!
With the help of many precious ladies, I have delivered 17 quilts to Memorial Hermann Children’s hospital this summer have 11 more so far to deliver in September! This is a huge number but we still need so much more help.
